Responsible for collection, acquisition recommendation, interpretive
programs, research for Asian art, which includes painting, sculpture,
prints and decorative arts from 2500 BCE through the 20th century.
Responsible for organizing exhibitions, developing programs, managing
projects, research and publication. Cultivate both donors and collectors.
Provide lectures to docents and students. Supervise assistants and
volunteers.
Curated the exhibition "Glory of the Silk Road: Art from Ancient
China," featuring 176 artworks from 14 museums and archaeological
institutes in Beijing, Shaanxi, Gansu and Xinjiang. Responsible
for planning, developing and implementing exhibition, including
contract negotiation, project management, research, interpreting,
venue search, grant application, and budget management. Responsible
for planning and publishing the exhibition catalogue. Contracted
with seven authors for the project. (1999-2003)
Organized
the symposium "Recent Discoveries and Research on the Silk
Road" in conjunction with the exhibition "Glory of the
Silk Road." Developed symposium concepts and agenda. Collaborated
with national and international academic speakers on topics and
the education department on logistics. Raised funds for symposium
travel and events. (2003)
Coordinate
the museum's biannual exhibitions on recent acquisitions. Work closely
with curators and registrars on selecting artwork, research and
interpreting. Provide articles for DAI's website and Members' Quarterly.
(2004-present)
Worked
as an in-house curator on the traveling exhibition "Shaped
with a Passion: The Carl A. Weyerhaeuser Collection of Japanese
Contemporary Ceramics from the 1970s." Secured additional loans
of Charles Freer's Japanese ceramics from the Indianapolis Museum
of Art. (2000)
Curated
the exhibition "Eternal China: Splendors from the First Dynasties,"
featuring 115 Qin and Han dynasty sculptures from 10 museums and
archaeological institutes in Shaanxi Province, China. Responsible
for planning, developing, contract negotiating, research, venue
search, grant application and budget management. Responsible for
planning and publishing the exhibition catalogue. (1996-98)
Responsible
as a curator for a major renovation project of Asian Wing featuring
Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian and Southeast Asian galleries
with 7,500 square feet and more than 340 works on display. Worked
closely with the staff on planning, gallery layout, casework, installation,
interpretation and publication. (1995-97)

Responsible for research and publication for Chinese Changsha ceramics
in the collection of IMA. Worked closely with the curator, conservators,
editor and graphic designer on the collection handbook "Changsha
Ceramics featuring gifts from Dr. and Mrs. Wally Zollman and Keith

Studied
IMA's renowned collections of Chinese and Japanese ceramics, Chinese
painting and jade, Japanese prints and printed books, and Asian
textiles. Catalogued the collection and documented the inventory.
Classified Asian slides and assisted with Asian book cataloguing.

the curator and conservators with research, interpreting and installing
the traveling exhibition "Tales of Japan: Three centuries of
