The
Fischer Collection - one of the most important
private holdings of German Expressionist art - was acquired by the
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in 2009. It includes works by such
major figures as Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Emil Nolde, Max Pechstein,
Conrad Felixmüller, and Otto Mueller. Selected highlights of
the collection will be displayed during the opening
of the museum's McGlothlin Wing.
